Low Noise Transistors Information

Low noise transistors are specially designed transistors that give off very little noise when a signal is passed through it. Some applications of a device of this type would be in measurement circuits, RF communications, or any other application in which noise can adversly affect the outcome of a circuit. Things to look for in identification of this kind of transistor are:

  1. Is the transistor combined in a circuit that requires very precise measurements (i.e. bridge networs, other types of sensing networks)
  2. Does the transistor shielded from any part of the circuit that creates a lot of noise(i.e. transformers,large inductors or capacitors).
  3. Like all other parts, the most important part of a device is the part number or the manufacturers number.
